Dr. Carissa Purnell serves as Director of Student Health and Wellness, under the guidance of the Student Services Department. SUHSD's Student Health and Wellness Department coordinates and manages all aspects of the District's Wellness Centers, the district's Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Division, as well as district wide Health Initiatives.
SUHSD recognizes the mental health and social emotional needs of our students is foundational in the success of their educational pursuits, but most importantly in supporting their aspirations in life. Our clinicians work in collboration with a district nursing team and community partners to provide a comprehensive scope of care for our students.
We are committed to adjusting our services as needed and honoring the unique climates of our school sites across the district. Each Wellness Center is designed to meet their site and local community needs.
