Women's History Month: Ethelvina Sanchez-Fortin
Happy Women’s History Month!
This month, we’re excited to celebrate the incredible women of our school district who have made and are making a lasting impact on our community!
Ethelvina Sanchez-Fortin has had a long-lasting educational career at our district. For the past 24 years, she has served in various capacities that eventually led her to her current position as Director of the Migrant Education Program. Ethelvina was a migrant student herself, describing the journey of becoming Migrant Education Program Director as ‘coming full circle.’
“My story is like that of many of our students, and I keep this at the forefront of my decision-making when designing programs and services to meet the needs of our Migrant families. My educational journey has afforded me the opportunity to change the trajectory of my life and that of my two sons. One degree of separation from my parent's paired with an education, and I have a life beyond my wildest dreams, and this is what I hope and dream for others. Si se puede!”
Thank you, Ethelvina Sanchez-Fortin, for inspiring us all and paving the way for future generations of women!
