Board Highlights are summaries of the Board of Trustees (the Board) meetings published by the communications staff and are not intended as documentation. Presentations

• Harmony at Home Counseling Programs Manager Lorena Rodriguez and Bullying Prevention Program Manager Daniela Anaya shared how the partnership between Harmony at Home and SUHSD is benefitting our students.

• Emergency Preparedness and Safety Coordinator Thomas Woodland presented the district security safety team plan proposal. This plan includes the creation of an extended safety team who will go through the same comprehensive training in order to facilitate safe school environments.

District Communications

• Superintendent Dan Burns shared the progress of the district’s Workforce Housing Project. The number of staff interested in Workforce Housing exceeds the number of available units. Thus, employees will be chosen via a randomized lottery process. The current goal is to get keys into the hands of employees by May 1, 2023.

Action Items

• The Board passed Resolution #23-30, recognizing April 2023 as California Public Schools Month.

• The next board meeting will take place on April 11, 2023 at 6:30 PM in the Board Room at Salinas Union High School District Office, 403 W. Alisal Street.
