Message from SUHSD Board of Trustees President

Hello, this is Carlos Rubio, President of the Salinas Union High School District Board of Trustees. 

Now that we are all settled into the 2023 calendar year, I want to thank our entire SUHSD community for its patience and cooperation in the face of difficulty. Already this year, we have endured class cancellations due to historic storms and rainfall. Now that the skies are clear above, we can move forward and prepare to finish off the school year on a positive note. 

The Board applauds our staff’s extraordinary efforts to provide student support in the aftermath of the storms. The commitment of our highly skilled and dedicated district workforce will continue to guide students toward individual achievement and growth.

In order to keep the momentum going, we want to remind families of the importance of school attendance. Making sure our students are attending class on time every day is the best way to meet their educational and social-emotional needs. The Board of Trustees and the District are dedicated to providing quality educational opportunities for all students and to do so, we are committed to making sure students have safe learning environments. 

On behalf of the entire Board of Trustees and our Superintendent, I thank you and urge you to be well.

Hola, soy Carlos Rubio, Presidente de la Mesa Directiva del Distrito Escolar de Salinas Union High. 

Ahora que ya hemos comenzado el año 2023, quiero agradecer a nuestra comunidad entera de Salinas Union High por su paciencia y cooperación ante los dificultades. Este año ya hemos tenido cancelaciones de clases debido a las tormentas históricas y la lluvia. Ahora que los cielos están despejados, podemos avanzar y prepararnos para terminar el año escolar con un tono positivo. 

La Mesa Directiva valora los extraordinarios esfuerzos de nuestro personal para brindar apoyo a los estudiantes después de las tormentas. El compromiso de la fuerza laboral altamente calificada y dedicada de nuestro Distrito continuará guiando a los estudiantes hacia los logros individuales y su desarollo. 

A fin de mantener el impulso para avanzar, quiero recordar a las familias la importancia de asistir a la escuela. Asegurar que nuestros estudiantes estén asistiendo a clases a la hora indicada cada día es la mejor manera de responder a sus necesidades educativas y socio-emocionales. La Mesa Directiva y el Distrito están dedicados a brindar oportunidades educativas de calidad para todos los estudiantes y para lograrlo, estamos comprometidos en asegurar que todos los estudiantes tengan ambientes de aprendizaje seguros.
