Monica Lujan Appointed to Board of Trustees
Introducing newly appointed Board Trustee Member, Monica Lujan who will be representing Trustee Area #6.
At the last meeting of the SUHSD Board of Trustees, Monica Lujan was appointed as Board Trustee for Area 6. The appointment of Mrs. Lujan results in the final seat of the Board being filled for this election cycle.
Mrs. Lujan's commitment to education is evident in her rich history of volunteer work within the community. Most notably, she is known for her volunteer work and involvement in the school communities of two SUHSD campuses. With an abundance of experience as a parent, volunteer, and community member, Mrs. Lujan decided to run for election to the Area 6 seat in 2020 but came up just short of being elected at that time. However, when the seat came open again she was excited to apply and interview as part of the appointment process.
Monica has put a heavy emphasis on her desire to uplift the student community. Both of her children are recent attendees of the district, and she understands the care and attention that our students need to be successful in school and in their futures. As a Board Member, she is interested in focusing on allocating resources to assist students in meeting their goals for student achievement.
After being officially appointed by the Board Mrs. Lujan stated, "I am honored to accept the Area 6 Board of Trustee position. I am excited to positively impact our schools and look forward to seeing and hearing from families, district staff, and students. I’m thankful for this privilege to work together with all stakeholders for the overall betterment of our community”.
We are proud to welcome Monica Lujan to the SUHSD Board of Trustees!
