Classes Resume Wednesday, March 15th

Please see the message below from Superintendent Dan Burns:

"Classes Resume Wednesday, March 15.

SUHSD Staff and Community:

During the recent severe weather conditions, our District was in constant communication with the Office of Emergency Services, County and Local Officials, neighboring school districts, and the County Office of Education.   The ongoing reports of road closures, evacuation orders, and predictions about the rising water levels in creeks and rivers resulted in the need to cancel classes on Monday and Tuesday.

Looking ahead, the weather forecast calls for breaks in the rain which should lead to more positive conditions in our communities.  Therefore, we will return to classes on Wednesday, March 15.

Keep in mind, we still have many staff affected by evacuation orders or road closures that make it difficult to return to work.  Thus, our campuses may have larger numbers of substitute or guest teachers for the next few days.   Additionally, we will continue to monitor weather and road conditions to make alternative plans as needed.

Again, we are appreciative of your patience and understanding as we look forward to resuming classes.

Thank you and be safe.

Dan Burns, Superintendent"
