Schools Remain Closed Tuesday, March 14th

Please read the message below from Superintendent Dan Burns:

"SUHSD Parents, Guardians, and Staff:

All SUHSD schools will remain closed for classes and extracurricular activities on Tuesday, March 14.

The Monterey County Office of Emergency Services is  predicting that a serious storm will hit our area tonight and into tomorrow.  The prediction is that the storm will bring more rain and high winds that may cause widespread flooding and power outages through Tuesday.  Also, we continue to be notified of closures on roadways leading to and from Salinas, which impacts our staff's ability to get to work locations safely.

Based on the information available today and the predictions from County officials, we will remain closed for classes and extracurricular activities on Tuesday, March 14.

Schools will be open if your child wants to pick up their books or their chromebook so that they can stay current on their classwork.  Also, schools will offer a grab and go breakfast and lunch from 11:30 to 1:00 at your child’s school of attendance. We know the change of schedules has an impact on family planning as well.  Thus, to plan ahead, we are scheduling for a return to classes on Wednesday, March 15.

Thank you and be well.

Dan Burns, Superintendent"
