12 SUHSD Schools Earn 2026 California PBIS Recognition

Twelve Salinas Union High School District schools have earned 2026 California PBIS Recognition, highlighting the work of school teams across the district to create supportive, welcoming and student-centered learning environments.

Ten schools earned Platinum recognition and two earned Gold, placing all 12 among schools recognized statewide for their implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports.

The recognition reflects more than a program or set of practices. It represents the work happening every day across SUHSD campuses to build strong relationships, establish clear expectations and ensure students have access to the support they need to be successful.

“This recognition reflects the dedication of the teams across our schools who show up every day with a shared focus on students,” Superintendent Dr. Zandra Jo Galván said. “To see 12 schools recognized statewide speaks to the strength of that work and the commitment our school communities continue to demonstrate.”

PBIS is a schoolwide framework that helps schools strengthen positive behavior, respond to student needs and create consistent systems of support across a campus.

California PBIS Recognition honors schools that demonstrate strong implementation of those systems and practices. For SUHSD, having 12 schools recognized reflects the collective work of educators, administrators and support teams who help shape the student experience every day.

The schools will be recognized during the California PBIS Conference, October 7–9, 2026, in Sacramento.

The recognition is an important reminder of what makes SUHSD schools exceptional: dedicated people, strong systems of support and a shared commitment to helping every student succeed.
