North Salinas High has a rich tradition of 60 years of athletic excellence. Dedicated coaches and hard-working student-athletes make for an amazing education-based athletic program!
Each student must meet all of the eligibility requirements prior to participating.
SUMMER WORKOUTS for some sports will go from June 3-July 27, 2019 (see information below).
Our SPORTS PHYSICAL will be Thursday, August 8 at 3:15 pm in the Small Gym at a cost of $20.
Our Fall sports include: Cross Country, Field Hockey, Football, Girls' Tennis, & Girls' Volleyball--Practice begins August 9, 2019.
Our Winter sports include: Boys' & Girls' Basketball, Boys' & Girls' Soccer, and Wrestling--Practice begins November 4, 2019.
Our Spring sports include: Baseball, Golf, Softball, Swimming, Boys' Tennis, Boys' Volleyball, & Track & Field--Practice begins February 3, 2020.

2019 SUMMER WORKOUT TIMES FOR VIKING ATHLETICS
Summer Athletic Workouts go from Monday, June 3 through Saturday, July 27! Here are the Viking Sports that are working out this summer.
Fall Sports First Official Day of Practice will be Friday, August 9. Our FALL Drug-Free Contract night is Tuesday, July 23 at 7:00 pm in the Main Gym. ONLY NEW fall student-athletes must attend with a parent/guardian, so mark your calendar now.
You must use the YELLOW NSHS Health History Form for your physical if you use a private doctor. A physical is required every 12 calendar months.
ALL athletes participating in summer workouts must be registered at www.athleticclearance.com Returning student-athletes, log in and change your school year and register for all sports you will be trying out for. NEW student-athletes, create an account and input all required information. Register for all sports you will be doing in 2019-2020!
Boys’ Basketball—Workouts begin Monday, June 3 from 9-11 am. A summer calendar will be provided. Contact Coach Alan Green at (831) 262-1613 for more information.
Boys’ and Girls’ Cross Country—Join the Cross Country “Remind” app for texting information on workouts. Text “81010” and in the message part type in @96c282 Meet on the grass on Kip Drive. Contact Coach Justin Conneau at (408) 602-3880 for information.
Field Hockey—Workouts are Mondays from 10 am until noon on the turf and Wednesdays from 3:15-5:15. Contact Coach Stanley Marple at (831) 809-9251 for help.
Football—Workouts start up Monday, June 3 and go from 3:30-5:30 pm Mondays through Thursdays on the field. A summer calendar will be provided. Contact Coach Ben Ceralde at (831) 320-9266 for assistance.
Boys’ Soccer—Workouts begin Wednesday, June 5 on the turf and fields and go from 5:30-8 Wednesdays and Fridays. Contact Coach Jesus Gomez at (831) 261-9785 for help.
Boys’ & Girls’ Tennis—Contact Coach Gonzalo Gonzales at (209) 483-6928 for more information. Workouts are every Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday from 3-4:30 pm on the tennis courts
Girls’ Volleyball—Tuesdays and Thursdays starting on June 4th in the GYM from 4-6 pm and Wednesdays/Fridays on the SAND New Players: 1-3 pm, Returning Players and Boys' Volleyball: 3-5 pm. Contact Coach Maggie Barrera Tennant at (831) 809-9756 for more information.
***For 2019-2020 IMPACT TESTING will begin in JUNE/JULY for all NEW student-athletes! It is a computerized concussion evaluation system and must be completed before an eligibility card will be issued. If you took the test last season, you do not need again until 2020-2021 (unless you suffered a concussion in 18-19).
