Harden Middle School Promotion Ceremony
Seating / Tickets
No tickets are needed for this venue. For the best seating, come early. To be fair to all families, we ask that you don't save seats for large groups. We don't issue tickets because we want all families (big or small) to come and celebrate this occassion with their Harden Middle School Student.
Students wear a gown during the promotion ceremony. The cost of the gown is approximately $30 (cash only). Students must see Activities Director. Students have the option to fundraise in order to pay for the gown. Fundraising forms are available starting early April or for more information click here. Fundraising will take place the last 2 weeks of April. One flower lei may be worn during the ceremony. Ribbon, candy, and /or money leis are not allowed. You may buy your Kahuna Lei directly from their website until the first week in May. The lei will be delivered to HMS on time for the Promotion Ceremony. There may be a few leis available for purchase before the ceremony.
Balloons, noise makers or other items that may be distracting to others are not permitted in the stadium.

REQUIREMENTS FOR PROMOTION CEREMONY & ACTIVITIES
The Salinas Union High School District has established guidelines that are reinforced at Harden Middle School. The following are the requirements regarding participation in the promotion cermony and activities.
Students must pass ALL 8th Grade classes. No semester “F’s”. Students will be provided an opportunity to remediate failed courses that were earned during the 1st semester only.
Students must demonstrate satisfactory Citizenship. No more than 1 “U” on the 3rd quarter report card.
No more than 1 “U” on the 4th quarter report card. Grades and citizenship are factored as a singular mark for double period classes. Promoting 8th grade students who receive two or more “U’s” during the third grading period will not be permitted to participate in the promotion ceremony. Special consideration may be given to students who demonstrate improvement by receiving no unsatisfactory grades during the fourth quarter.
No serious violations of the behavior code during the 4th quarter that result in a single 5-day suspension or two separate suspensions.
ALL bills are paid. No outstanding debts for lost or damaged books, fundraisers, etc.
85% attendance required (8th grade year only)
