    Who We Are

Everett Alvarez High School GEAR UP program provides academic support to the Everett Alvarez High School community by proving services to the graduating classes of 2019 & 2020 cohort students.  We provide in-class tutoring, after-school tutoring, college workshops, PSAT/SAT workshops, college field trips, academic enrichment activities and college/career & credit recovery summer school programs.  All these programs are in partnership with the school site and work closely with the school administrators to structure the program that bests fits the needs of the students.

    Our History

We started in 2014 with a class of 7th and 8th grade students at La Paz Middle School.  We have followed this group of students to Everett Alvarez High School.  We will continue to progress with the students through graduation.  As the students move up in grades so does the GEAR UP program.  We serve the grade level of the students who are classes of 2019 & 2020.  Our grant is structured to support the students through the first year of college, so that, the students will feel successful in their early stages of college life.
