Intradistrict Transfer
At Salinas Union High School District, we are committed to supporting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of every student. Our Pupil Personnel Service team works closely with all school sites to provide programs and services that help students thrive.
If you're interested in having your student attend a different school within our district, you may be eligible to apply for an intradistrict transfer.
What is an Intradistrict Transfer?
An intradistrict transfer allows families to request that their student attend a different comprehensive school within SUHSD after the Open Enrollment period has ended, or if the family has moved out of the current school's attendance area and would like the student to remain at their original school for the rest of the year.
Key points to know:
- Students are expected to attend their neighborhood (home) school unless they've been approved for a transfer through Open Enrollment or the intradistrict process.
- Intradistrict Transfers are valid for one school year only and cannot be renewed.
- if you would like your student to continue at the requested school beyond that year, you'll need to apply during the Open Enrollment window in February.
Have questions?
We encourage you to contact the schools directly to speak with the Principal or staff. In some cases, parents may be asked to attend a meeting with both the home school and the requested school, as final decisions are based on school recommendations and enrollment numbers.
Please explore our website or contact us for more details and support with the transfer process.
