Vanessa Robinson brings a lifelong commitment to education, leadership, and the Salinas community to her role on the Salinas Union High School District Board of Trustees, representing Trustee Area One. From student to educator to trustee, her journey reflects a deep connection to the schools and neighborhoods that helped shape her life.

Born and raised in Salinas, Trustee Robinson attended Monterey Park, Mission Park, Kammann Elementary School, Washington Middle School, and North Salinas High School before pursuing higher education. Today, she has come full circle, serving as a sixth-grade teacher at Kammann Elementary School while also representing the community as a member of the Board of Trustees. She is also a state-elected committee member for the California Teachers Association's political action committee and serves as a local union leader.

Trustee Robinson's connection to the district spans generations. With deep family roots throughout Salinas and relatives who have attended schools across the district for decades, she believes public education is more than an institution—it is a cornerstone of the community. Her leadership is grounded in lived experience, a commitment to educational equity, and the belief that every student deserves to feel seen, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential.

As both an educator and trustee, Trustee Robinson is passionate about creating opportunities that help every student succeed. She believes leadership begins with service, collaboration, and ensuring students see themselves reflected in the opportunities available to them. Her work continues to focus on strengthening partnerships among students, families, educators, and the broader Salinas community.
