Mandated Reporting

  • Community members have an important role in protecting children from abuse and neglect.  If child abuse or neglect is suspected, a report should be filed with qualified and experienced agencies that will investigate the situation.

    24 Hour Child Protective Services (CPS) Child Protective Services are mandated by Federal and State Law to investigate and respond to all allegations of suspected child abuse and neglect.

    • Reports of child abuse are to be called into the hotline. In addition to calling the hotline, Mandated Reporters can fax or email reports of child abuse. Confidential email address for use by Mandated Reporters

    Internal Reporting: State law does not require a mandated reporter to notify school administration of a report. The district encourages employees who file a report to notify school administration for purposes of awareness and expediting CPS investigations.
