School Site Council

  • The School Site Council annually reviews and updates the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) including proposed expenditure of funds allocated to the school. The Council is composed of a group of teachers, parents, non teaching staff, and students that works with the principal to develop, review, and value school improvement programs and school budgets.

    Q: How do I join School Site Council?
    A: Parents are elected by other parents at our annual Back to School Night in August.

    Q: When are the meetings?
    A: The meetings are held once a month on the last Monday of the month. The meetings have been held from 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. The day/time can be adjusted to meet the needs of members.

    Q: Where are the meetings?
    A: The meetings are held in the conference room in the main office.

    Q: Will there be a training?
    A: Yes, normally at the first meeting all members will receive a training on SSC.

    Q: What will be expected of parent representatives?
    A: Parents are important because they represent all of the other parents at Harden Middle School. The duty of SSC parents are to bring forth issues that represent all students, not just personal issues of their own children.
